What is included in my Hosting Plan?
Your Hosting Plan includes your own email server, ftp access, control
panel, a dedicated IP address (Silver and Gold Plans), and an allotted
amount of storage space and bandwidth. We maintain the web server,
provide hi-speed connections to the internet, and back up all the
files every night.
Everything you need to maintain a website is provided for you.
We set up your Hosting Plan for free, and send you an email with
all your Account Information . . . so all you have to do is:
- point your domain name to our server
- set up your email accounts
- upload your files
There are many extra features that are included with your Hosting
Plan. These features are found inside your Cpanel,
and are yours to install at any time you want. Cpanel is very user
friendly, and allows you to set up shopping carts, chat rooms, forums,
and many other items with just one click!

You are free to leave at any time. All advance payments will be

What if I want to upgrade my website?
You may upgrade or downgrade any of these 2serveU.net web hosting
package at any time. You will be required to pay the difference
in the fee for your current plan, and the plan you are upgrading
to, should you decide to choose a larger plan. You will then pay
the new monthly fee or annual fee for the new account package that
you select. You may also choose to just add (or subtract) more storage
space or bandwidth to create a custom account.

What are your Network Specifications?
Our network is connected via Gigabit/OC12 (1000/622 mbps) fiber
connections through Commonwealth Telephone™ (CTSI) to Global
Crossing and 1000MBPS Metro Fast Ethernet drops from Verio™,
XO™ Communications,
Cogent™,
and MFN™/AboveNET™.
For redundancy, 2serveU.net is currently running BGP4 (border gateway
routing protocol) to maintain the speed and uptime. If one backbone
line goes down, it will balance the load to the other(s). If one
line gets congested, it will load balance the traffic.

What are the hardware specs of the servers?
Every server has different specifications. Whenever a server reaches
what we feel to be the limit, another server is built. We constantly
upgrade the server hardware on our network. If more drive space,
memory, or faster processors are needed, they are added in at that
time. The current hardware specs for these particular Hosting Packages
are:

How is my website monitored?
2serveU.net maintains internal and external monitoring systems
for every server in our Data Center. The servers are checked every
5 minutes via network monitoring software. Our hosting partners
monitor uptime as well as individual features and services running
on each server, and are notified via alarms, email, screen popups,
and paging, if a problem occurs.

What is the uptime?
2serveU.net strives to maintain a 99.9% network and server uptime
service level. This uptime percentage is a monthly figure, and does
not include any scheduled hardware/ software upgrades, nor "Acts
of God". Our definition of "Act of God" includes;
fire, flood, tornado, earthquake, telco fiber issues (ie...Verizon™
cutting a fiber line somewhere), backbone peering point issues (ie...UUnet™
having a router go down in Virginia that wipes out internet service
for the entire East Coast), hard drive failure (faulty hardware
is rare, but cannot be predicted nor avoided), as well as network
floods, hacks, and attacks. If 2serveU.net fails to meet it's 99.9%
uptime guarantee, and it is not due to one of the above reasons,
partial downtime credits will be made available to each client,
upon request, on a case by case basis. 2serveU.net does not credit
a full month's service if we only have 99.4% uptime. This would
not be financially healthy for us, and in turn would only negatively
affect the service level 2serveU.net provides to you. "Partial
refunds for partial downtime" is our standard policy.

What about software upgrades?
Our trained technicians handle all software upgrades/patches on
2serveU.net's servers. We fully follow all trends in the industry,
and monitor all support/bug announcement groups. If a new bug or
security vulnerability is found, we immediately upgrade our systems.
Our Linux systems are auto-updated every night from security patch
websites. As new software is released, including new versions of
operating systems, the new software is carefully evaluated. If the
software's new version does not have any security issues, or bug
problems, the upgrade is implemented.

What if the hardware fails?
Our hosting facilities have stock replacement parts for all servers.
They are always building new servers for our shared hosting clients,
as well as our dedicated server clients, so a full inventory of
parts is maintained. Hardware failures are uncommon, but they do
happen, and are a part of the web site hosting business. Our technicians
repair all failed hardware promptly, to minimize any downtime caused
by such.

How is extra bandwidth billed?
You will never be charged for overusing your bandwidth . . .
2serveU.net maintains software on every server and on the switches
to monitor individual website usage and server-wide usage. If you
reach 80% of your monthly allotted Bandwidth, you will receive an
email warning. This will let you know that you are getting popular,
and should increase your bandwidth.
If you ignore your bandwidth usage warning, your Site would show
a notice saying "Bandwidth Exceeded", but you will not
be charged anything.
If you need more bandwidth, it is only $1.00 per 1000Mb. Or you
may choose to upgrade to a larger hosting plan that would include
more bandwidth. We're here to grow with you, and your success is
important to us.

2serveU.net will assist you with all support for services provided
directly through 2serveU.net. We will help you with basic settings
for your email software and ftp client, as well as assist you with
using the web browser control panel. We will attempt to provide
some tech support for the most popular programs our clients use.
2serveU.net is not responsible for teaching you how to use another
company's products. Example: 2serveU.net will assist you with the
settings for using MS Frontpage™, but we will not teach you
how to actually use the product itself. You need to contact the
software maker in such a situation, who provides tech support for
how to use their product. We cannot even attempt to support all
the thousands of software products on the market.
2serveU.net is not responsible for assisting with your own programs
and cgi scripts. If you choose to install your own programs and
cgi scripts on your site, you are responsible fully for installing
them. 2serveU.net will provide support for any program or cgi script
that we provide pre-installed with your web site hosting package.
2serveU.net is not responsible for designing, nor developing, your
website, including HTML and/or images. We will attempt to give a
quick look at your design/development problem, and offer a suggestion

DNS settings - Pointing my domain name to your
web servers
After signing up for a Free Hosting Trial you will be taken to
a page that has easy instructions for changing your DNS nameservers.
see DNS Tools Page.
For your hosting account to work properly, your domain name must
be pointed to our web servers. The instructions for doing this are:
1) Go to where your purchased your Domain Name . . . (Registrar)
2) Access your account (members login) - you will need your username
and password
3) go to where you can change your DNS Nameserver Settings
4) change them to the settings below:
Primary DNS Server
Primary Server Hostname......:: NS1.2SERVEU.NET
Primary Server Netaddress....:: 66.197.165.37
Secondary DNS Server
Secondary Server Hostname....:: NS2.2SERVEU.NET
Secondary Server Netaddress..:: 66.197.165.38
It usually takes about 24 hours for your new DNS settings to take
effect, after which your account will be fully operational.
We are not allowed to enter a registrar and change information
on your behalf. Unless you provide us with your login and password
information for your registrar, you will need to change the name
servers yourself. If you need assistance, we are here to help in
any way we possibly can.

Do you support International domain names and clients?
2serveU.net can host all international domains on its servers.
2serveU.net can accept foreign clientele, just please be advised
that all correspondence must be conducted in English. The client
is responsible for handling the registration process of foreign
domain name(s). This must be pointed to nameservers on the 2serveU.net
network as assigned, or you can use other nameservers and route
the domain name to the IP address you are assigned. 2serveU.net
cannot handle the foreign domain registration process for you, due
to the fact that we do not speak all of the potential foreign languages
that may be involved. 2serveU.net will assist you however, with
any technical information need to accomplish this.

How do I set up my email?
2serveU.net web hosting clients can set up POP Accounts, Forwarders/Aliases,
and Auto-Responders in the Cpanel (Control Panel) that comes with
every 2serveU.net web site hosting package. This can be done by
yourself, and without any assistance from the 2serveU.net staff.
You can even have the Cpanel "Auto-Configure" your email

How do I upload my files?
All 2serveU.net's web site hosting packages allow the usage of
FTP, SSH/Telnet (if requested), File Manager, MS FrontPage™,
and other web development publishing programs to upload files to
your web site. The settings and instructions are emailed to you
when we create a hosting account, and are also posted on your website
in a file named help.htm -
The settings are:
FTP Host Name or Remote Address: ftp.yourdomain.com
Host Directory: /public_html/
Login or Username: yourusername
Password: yourpassword

How do I upload using FrontPage?
Websites that were created using MS FrontPage should Not Be Uploaded
Using FTP, or none of the components will work properly. If you
uploaded using FrontPage and are still having problems, Please Read
our FrontPage Tutorial for the proper way to upload.
Note: All 2serveU.net's web site hosting
packages have FrontPage Extensions that can be installed and/or
removed through your Cpanel - make sure that you have FrontPage
Extensions installed on your site.

Can I have adult content on my website?
2serveU.net does not allow adult sites on the same servers as normal
hosting sites.

Does my web site have its own IP number or is it
shared?
This depends on which Hosting Package
you order. Our Silver and Gold Plans come with your own Dedicated
IP Address, but our Starter and Bronze Plans use a shared IP Address.
We can add a dedicated IP Address to any account for only $2.00
/mo.

Can I host more than one domain name per account?
Yes you can if you have our Bronze, Silver or Gold Plan. These
plans come with extra domain parking and Addon Domains. Parked Domains
will show your website as having a different domain name . . . Addon
Domains can point to any of your subdomains, and will act like a
totally independant web site.
Addon Domains can be pointed to Subdirectories to give them a catchy
address. Let's say you had a subdirectory called "books".
The current address is http://books.mysite.com.
You could set up an "Addon Domain" in Cpanel for another
domain such as "mybooks.com". Now you could market www.mybooks.com
as the address for http://books.mysite.com
- easier name to remember.. Each one of the Addon Domains will have
their own website statistics, and act as an entirely separte website
. . . all within your main site.
Our Bronze Hosting Plan allows 5 Addon Domains, Our Silver Hosting
Plan allows 10 Addon Domains, and our Gold Plan allows 25 Addon
Domains. More can be added for only $1 ea./ mo.
Note: Parked Domain Names are an easy
way to increase your marketing, but Parked domains do not receive
a control panel of their own. We recommend the inexpensive 50
MB Starter Plan instead, due to the fact that they come with
their own control panel functionality, email accounts, ftp, etc.
If you already have an account with us, you would get 20% Off
- This makes the Starter Plan only $3.95 /mo. and the Bronze Plan
