Q: I want to use FrontPage. How do I
set it up for my account?
A. FrontPage will let you create your website
offline, storing your files on your computer ... but in order to
"Publish" your Website so that other people can view it
you will need a Web Hosting Account with FrontPage Extensions
installed on it. If you don't have a Web Hosting Account we can
set one up for you Free of Charge

here for a Free Hosting Trial
If you checked the "Install FrontPage Extensions"
box when you signed up for a Hosting Plan from 2serveU.net
they are already installed on your site. Just follow the directions
here to connect to your web server and start
uploading your files.
If you need to install FrontPage Extensions on your Hosting Account
you can do that yourself. Just open up your Cpanel and click on
the "FrontPage Extensions" Icon. Here is a Video Tutorial
showing your how to do that: http://www.2serveu.net/cpanel-tutorials/frontpage.html

Q: I uploaded my files using FTP, now my FrontPage
Web doesn't Work?
A. A site created
with FrontPage should NOT be uploaded through FTP
or some features will not work! You need to connect using HTTP
Note: FrontPage
maintains index and configuration files on the remote site. If you
add web pages to the site with plain FTP, the changes will not be
recorded, and FrontPage may begin to function abnormally thereafter.
It is recommended that you Only Use FrontPage to modify a
FrontPage site, connecting via HTTP.

Q: I have files on my computer, how do I upload
them to my site - with FTP?
A. If you are using a FrontPage Web,
you should NOT have to use an FTP program at all. To upload files
from your hard disk, open your web as described at here, then go to File, <Import...> from
the pull-down menu in FrontPage. Click on the <Add File> button
to add files from your hard disk.

Q: How do I Publish my FrontPage Web Site
to my Web Hosting account?
Movie Tutorials: Publishing
in FrontPage 2002 | Publishing
in FrontPage 2003
A. You only have to publish your FrontPage Web if you are
creating the site off-line using the personal web server. If you
are creating/editing your site while connected to the Internet,
just click "Save" after editing and your new page will
be viewable on the web ... this is call "Live Mode"

in the box.
3) Click on <Options> button if you
need to change default publish options.
4) Click on <Publish> button then

6) You will see your web site published
after a while.

Q: I installed a Hit Counter, but instead I'm
seeing the words [Hit Counter] - Why?
A. The counter and other "WebBots" will only work
when they are on the internet, because they require a web server's
FrontPage Extensions in order to operate. You should be able to
see them by viewing your website in any web browser (Netscape Navigator,
Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.)
If your Hit Counter is still displaying the words
[Hit Counter]
you may have installed it incorrectly
How do I add a FrontPage Hit Counter
to a Web Page?
- Open your FrontPage Web as described here
- Click on the <Folders> icon in the
View Menu (left vertical menu)
- Double-click on the file you want to add
the FrontPage counter to.
- Wait for the Page to load up under the FrontPage
Editor.
- Click on the Insert Menu, select <Active
Elements> and click on <Hit Counter...>
- Customize your Hit Counter Properties and
click OK.
Note: It is normal to see the words [Hit Counter] displayed
in the FrontPage Editor.
- On the File menu click <Save>
- Load the web page in your favorite browser
(Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.) to display
the hit counter.
If it still doesn't display, Recalculate Hyperlinks
